English version at the bottom!
Poberejo nas pri Merkurju in odidemo proti Brniku.
Leteli smo z malteškim prevoznikom. Za večerjo smo dobili sendvič s sirom, paradižnikom in pestom.
Odidemo do naših hotelov.
DB SAN ANTONIO HOTEL + SPA:
Prispemo v poznih urah v hotel.
Saj sem vam rekla...izredno prijazni in ustrežljivi! Hvalaaaa!!
No, sedaj vem.
Ogledamo si glavne znamenitosti in že hitimo naprej.
Hitro še grem okoli vogala v Rabatu in gremo naprej...
In smo zaključili z celodnevnim ogledom otoka.
Poleg tega dobite avdio vodič in ruto, če slučajno imate odkrita ramena.
No, tukaj pa tabel kolikor želiš! Bemo!
Seveda me debelo gledajo zakaj nimam karte in me vprašajo kam letim...hmmm ja ne vem, očitno v Slovenijo če sem na tem letalu! Vse ok, tokrat dobim mesni sendvič in malo turbolence pred slovensko mejo.
Na letališču nas že čaka GoOpti in odidemo proti domu...
Hvala Malta, hvala Palma!
ENGLISH VERSION:
I apologize in advance for all the pictures and the fact that I've made about 1000, is here only a piece of cake : P ...
Finally the day came, 8th July, the day of departure to Malta. Of course once again traveled with the travel agency Palma. Since we had one of the first reservation, we had the opportunity to free transport to the airport with GoOpti with two top chauffeurs in both directions. What more can you wish for! They picked us at Merkur and left for Ljubljana airport.
We flew to Malta with their plane. For dinner we got a sandwich with cheese, tomato and pesto. Mmmmm good start!
Arrived to Malta in about two hours and humidityis high! I was sticky after a minute!
Our friendly guide Mojca was alreday waiting for us.
We went to our hotels.
DB SAN ANTONIO HOTEL + SPA:
Arrived in the late evening hours in the hotel. If you have a problem with English, just find Milan or Marija at the front desk and you'll be able to talk in our balkan language :) ... so it was in our case ... Yes, the hotel has a lot of workers of different nationalities and they are all very friendly and helpful, from the first to the last!
Our room was modern, beautiful and clean, with an electric kettle for tea and coffee, a balcony overlooking the other side of the road, which is better because of the strong sun.
The hotel is renovated, stylishly furnished and extremely clean!
The only negative thing is that you get a beach umbrella and two deckchairs for an extra € 5 (I think you had two drinks included), despite the fact that you have all inclusive. But the hotel weights everything!! I highly recommend the hotel, you can se the link HERE!
Food in restaurant Guéliz was excellent! I could finally enjoy in salads, fish and desserts! Yes, they had a wide selection of meat, but what is not exactly my favorite section :) ...
Pies were so great that I wanted to go into the kitchen for the recipe! Really excellent !!
And that warm dessert with forest fruits that you put on hot vanilla pudding! Waaaaaa ....So tasty!!
We also had a selection of pasta, risotto, occasionally fresh shrimps and even some traditional specialties, and about six different side dishes.
For restaurant Q-Zins you will need a reservation and is based on the BBQ foods.
The restaurant is located in a 10-th floor and you have a wonderful view of the surroundings.
Barbecue fanatics will enjoy it! Pork chops, skewers, steaks, grilled vegetables, salads, desserts, ...
The restaurant is constantly busy, so just book a dinner two days earlier.
Even for the restaurant Yushan you will need a reservation. All bookings can be made at the main restaurant Guéliz. I booked it only the day before and they told me that everything is busy and if in two days will be OK ... but on that day we are going to return home and they put me on the list anyway! As I said ... extremely friendly and helpful! Thank youuuu!!
Those who love Asian food, here's reservation a must !!
Spring rolls, sushi, salmon, noodles, rice, pork, chicken, beef, anything you want!! Food superb !!
Excursions around the island:
We booked a trip around the island via Palma at our guide Mojca, including traditional lunch in Rabat for € 50, without lunch for € 40.
An extremely friendly chauffeur with a jeep came for us and of course Adrijana needs tosit in front because of my stomach ...
Our first stop was the Popeye village. It've never understood why I never saw any pictures from inside.Well, now I know. Entrance is € 20 per adult and is intended for children, since there is children's animations and water play.
Next stop was one of the most beautiful beaches in Malta - Golden Bay beach, Mellieha.
Here we have 1 hour for swimming ... Water was awesome!
I also used my sunscreen cream ... It is not for those who like to cook in the sun and the stains were on my clothes! Obviously I need a new recipe! You can find it HERE!
Next stop was the town of Mdina, from which you have beautiful views of the surrounding cities.
We visited the major sights and already rushed on our next stop.
Next stop was the artistic village where we watched how they produce silver jewelry, ceramics and glass.
Pearls can be bought for ridiculously low price only because pearls are not perfectly the same size, but you do not see that...
Ceramics and glass, were a bit more expensive, but anyway a wonderful job!
Hungry !! We went back to the city of Rabat for lunch. There is a choice between chicken menu or a traditional menu. Traditional was literally triple meat! Minced, bacon and something around, but unfortunately I forgot the name. Vegetable soup was excellent but the sauce unfortunately was not my taste, also the tomatoes were industrial. Otherwise, they said it was good traditional food.
Our last stop was the coastal village of Blue Grotto. For € 8, they can drive you around the caves with the boat, the ride takes about 20 minutes. The night before I looked YouTube clip how it looks and I decided not to go, I would be more impressed by the height views. And we completed the full day tour of the island. During the journey I was dying over beautiful churches that you have in Malta 365 and only in Valletta 21. No, I still am not interested in religion, but architecture is to die for!Just for a reminder, it is suitable for you to give a little tip for the drivers! No one will say anything, just for the info!VALLETTA:Obviously nobody is catching up with my pace, so I went all alone to the capital city of Malta. So I have peace and not in a hurry! The bus station was only a minute away from the hotel, takes approximately one hour, the fare is € 2, valid for 2 hours. When you arrive in Valletta, in front of you on the fence you will see map with sights. I suggest that you take a picture, because the path that leads directly to the city is poorly marked and if you turn at the entrance to the right, on the top of the stairs you will find a lot of tables..
Throughout Valletta, under these narrow streets is allowed for cars to drive. You will see really clear why they have such destroyed cars ...And I do not know what these ornaments represent. Chances are they are preparing for some kind of fiesta.I went to the cathedral, which opens at 9:30 am. Entrance for adults € 10, students € 7.50.You get an audio guide and a scarf if you happen to have uncovered shoulders.I spent two hours in church and museum, otherwise you can see it in less than an hour, but I took the time. In the museum is not allowed to take pictures, in the cathedral you can take as many as you want!I was looking for a port for ships on the left side of Valletta but of course I could not find, because nothing was labeled! I wanted to take the boat to Sliema, beause there is the most beautiful view of Valletta (I got on the day of departure awesome view) ... Just a little was missing and I would go back to the hotel because I already had enough of the search, but I insisted just a little bit.I went back through the main entrance and decided to go right up the stairs.Well, here are the tables and as many as you like! Damn!I went to the bus station, because the heat was killing me.I went to stop for Buggiba, the bus came and I asked the driver if he is going to Buggiba and he said yes.We drove past Buggiba, continue to Mellieha and then I asked him when are we going to come to Buggiba, and he said to me that we are not going there. He said only I'm sorry. Yeah, great! I arrived to the hotel 2.30 hours later ...Of course, the week went too quickly, the first two days I did not go anywhere, because it was so hot at the pool that I was cooling in reception, with a book in hand. And I was in the shade!I did not see the island of Comino, because they said it is a total crowd there, even for the island of Gozo I ran out of time, then here is Maja, she is living in Malta for 8 months and shows what else can you see, especially I got a lust for zip-line, and I came to the conclusion that the main summer months are not good for me (crowded and heat) and 7 days are not enough! We flew with Air Malta again and also on the plane they wanted to see tickets. I took the passport with a ticket from my purse and the wind blow the ticket away!! Of course the lady asked me why I do not have the ticket and asked me where I was going ... hmmm yeah I do not know, obviously to Slovenia if I was on that plane! Everything ok, now I got meat sandwich and a little turbulence before the Slovenian border was also included. At the airport GoOpti was already waiting for us and we went home ...Thank you Malta, thank you Palma!
